Amazing iPhone playlist generator thingie

I suck at making playlists for my iPod touch. I simply can’t be bothered — and yeah, I never really got into making mix tapes back in the day either. I suck at making playlists for my iPod touch. I simply can’t be bothered — and yeah, I never really got into making mix tapes back in the day either.

Which is why I was pleasantly surprised that I’m starting to really rock playlists, thanks to MoodAgent, a cool iPhone app I discovered using Chomp.

Simply put, you adjust five sliders to match your mood, and MoodAgent creates a 25 song playlist of the music on your device. Yes, it’s that easy:

On first launch, Moodagent syncs your music collection with the millions of high-definition profiles we have online. We get the track profiles that match your collection, and keep them locally for faster response.

If you find that not all of your songs are synced then download the Moodagent Profiler to your Mac or PC and let it profile your library, then simply re-sync and you’ll be able to use most or all of your music collection.

Ok that’s kinda cool, but what if you’re in the mood for one song, and want to listen to more songs like it. Yes, MoodAgent can handle that too:

If you’d prefer, select a song from your collection and let Moodagent create a playlist using this song’s mood profile.

If this all sounds familiar, it’s kinda like iTunes Genius, only better. Check it out in the iTunes store — currently it’s a free download.
