Joost adds new features and new content for streaming Internet TV service

Joostâ„¢Today’s headline from the New York Times reads “Viacom to Offer Online Video, but Not on YouTube“. This past weekend, Joost released an update to the latest beta version of it’s streaming video software, and for the first time, released a version for Macintosh.

My experience with Joost has been good, so far. It’s got a pretty funky interface, has social media aspects, but the content hasn’t been there enough to keep me engaged. Hopefully that’ll soon change with this new partnership.

Update: Joost has added a few more channels, including documentary programs from National Geographic…Joost just got more interesting!

But the big question, will this just be more TV, or will the social aspect add value that TV just can’t?

What do you think?
