Social Networking goes to the Dogs!

Dogster.com (think Friendster.com) is an interesting little site that caters to the dog-lover in all of us.

The concept is one of posting a bio of your dog, including photos..etc. Then, other Dogster members become your puppies pals, leave bones..etc. Each pooch then develops its own virtual community. Yes, Heloise and Selena both have their own pages.

We are dog freaks and computer geeks who wanted a canine sharing
application that’s truly gone to the dogs. Such a site didn’t exist, so
we built it ourselves. The fluffy love is backed with serious
technology and years of coding experience under our collars. Dogster
has since become more contagious than kennel cough.
Since launching in January 2004, Dogster.com (and it’s sister site
Catster.com launched in June, 2004) have become the fastest growing pet
destination on the internet and are now a top-five overall pet
destination. Now serving over 650,000 photos for over 155,000 uploaded
pets by 125,000 members, Dogster and Catster serve more than 10 million
pages a month to over half a million visitors. You can see more
staggering stats on our home and statster pages.

Not a bad way to learn a bit about a particular breed before you commit to including a dog in your family. But not the only way either. Make sure you do your research before you get your dog. You and your new dog will both benefit.
