Social Networking goes to the Dogs!

Dogster.com (think Friendster.com) is an inter­est­ing little site that caters to the dog-lover in all of us.

The concept is one of post­ing a bio of your dog, includ­ing pho­tos..etc. Then, other Dog­ster mem­bers become your pup­pies pals, leave bones..etc. Each pooch then devel­ops its own vir­tual com­munity. Yes, Heloise and Selena both have their own pages.

We are dog freaks and com­puter geeks who wanted a can­ine shar­ing
applic­a­tion that’s truly gone to the dogs. Such a site didn’t exist, so
we built it ourselves. The fluffy love is backed with ser­i­ous
tech­no­logy and years of cod­ing exper­i­ence under our col­lars. Dog­ster
has since become more con­ta­gious than ken­nel cough. Since launch­ing in Janu­ary 2004, Dogster.com (and it’s sis­ter site
Catster.com launched in June, 2004) have become the fast­est grow­ing pet
des­tin­a­tion on the inter­net and are now a top-five over­all pet
des­tin­a­tion. Now serving over 650,000 pho­tos for over 155,000 uploaded
pets by 125,000 mem­bers, Dog­ster and Cat­ster serve more than 10 mil­lion
pages a month to over half a mil­lion vis­it­ors. You can see more

Not a bad way to learn a bit about a par­tic­u­lar breed before you com­mit to includ­ing a dog in your fam­ily. But not the only way either. Make sure you do your research before you get your dog. You and your new dog will both benefit.
