Got Puppies? (image: puppies) Yep, we’re now sharing our habitat with 2 minature Daschunds — Selena and Heloise.

Did ya ever think that anything 10 weeks old would have that much energy? Hell no!

Anyway, they’re cute, unstoppable, and need to be let out every few hours (hard on the sleep cycle!)…tiny puppy-sized bladders.

Long day at the Pearson Airport…

Long day at the Pearson Airport... (image: expedialogo)Due to a FUBAR with the (yep, I’m not a coordinator), we ended up spending the day around the Pearson International Airport in Toronto.

And by around, I do mean around….at one point we walked out of the terminal, found the nearest piece of green grass (a freeway over/under/throughway at the arrivals level) and crashed for a couple of hours.

Then we found this wonderful haven of goodness, the Expedia.ca Cafe. A wonderful place where you can buy , connect to broadband , play Guild Wars, eat food, see airplanes, drink , an surf the …while you wait for your 10pm boarding time to arrive.

A lifesaver.

Mmmmm..... (image: beer)So there we were, hanging out on the French side of the river, recouping after a hard day of discussion with Parks folk about policy, wondering what we could get for a good . Wow. I was impressed! Should you get the chance, check out the one pictured on the right…the Boreal Noir…a very nice, dark. I believe it’s unpasturized..which explains the rather short best-before date. And…sigh…not importable. The other candidate is the one to the left…the Keiths Red Amber, also something we don’t get in . Another winner. Bliss…

Ottaway, day one

Ottaway, day one (image: gargoyle)Woke up this morning feeling fine…except for the freaking time (5am).
Cab arrived at 6.
Airport by 6:40.
Jump through 2 different Air checkin desks to get things arranged…nice lady at the help desk managed to:

  • get us sitting together
  • get us the extra legroom of an exit row…nice lady!

Flight was uneventful.
Grab Rental car.
Load car, turn on GPS and flawlessly navigate to the hotel. Nice toy!

Since we’re here early…the Parks / workshop doesn’t start until Friday, Tess and I decided to get a great start on the tourist thing.

We went to the Parliament grounds and took pictures…but not before walking the surrounding neighbourhood of the hotel, finding an awesome eatery, and downing a great meal.

…and that’s pretty much it. Was techie challenged getting the wireless working in our room, but once that was set, we were golden.
